To visit a Memorypost, use the search features located on Memorypost.com.’s main page. At the top of the page, type in the name of your friend or family member in the “Find Someone” box. For your convenience, the search function is also located under “Find a Memorypost” on the bottom right corner of the main page. If you receive an error message, check the spelling of the name you have entered. If the name is spelled correctly, but no entries match your search, try entering the name of the person who invited you to Memorypost. If you are still unable to find an entry, send an e-mail to the person who created the Memorypost and ask them for the exact link.

Types of photos that work - You can use images that you have scanned or downloaded from a digital camera or photo CD. The quality of your online image will depend on the quality of the image you use. We recommend that you start with a clear, shadow-free image. For best results, use close-up photos taken in daylight.

Upload - Although we offer image editing tools, we recommend that you use an image editing program prior to upload. Your image file must be formatted as a ".jpg" or ".gif" file to successfully upload. When prompted for an image, click the "Browse" button, and search your computer for your image. Your image name will appear in the box to the left of the "Browse" button. Note: Image file names should be free of symbols, special characters, and spaces between letters.

File size - If you have a large image (file size of 1 MB or above), we recommend that you use the image editing software on your computer (such as Adobe Photoshop) to reduce the image size before uploading it. Ideally, we recommend that your images be 72 dpi, 400 x 300, and below 250K.

Image re-size - Memorypost.com will automatically re-size large images. You may re-size, flip, or rotate images using the "Change images" feature in the site management section. Note: Larger image files may take a long time to upload, or may not upload at all, depending on the speed of your internet connection.

Edit site options - You can access this section by clicking the “Login” button at the top of the page and entering your username and password. The buttons in the middle of the page allow you to select which editing feature you would like to use.

Change layout - This option allows you to change the page set-up of your Memorypost. Select from one of six templates. Click the button above the template you’ve selected and then click the “Make Changes” button at the bottom of the page. Once you have submitted your changes, you can select the “Preview your Memorypost” option to view your updated Memorypost. Please note that each template is unique. By selecting a new template, you may change the number of images that appear on your Memorypost. For example, if you are currently using Template 1, and you have published four images on your site and you switch to Template 5, only two images will appear.

Change colors - If you would like to change the color scheme of your Memorypost, select the “Change Colors” option from the “Edit Memorypost” section. Select from one of six color combinations. The colors represent the background colors as well as the font color in the title of your Memorypost.

Change text - To change the title, caption, or text in your Memorypost, select the “Change text” option from the “Edit Memorypost” section. Unchanged text will remain the same. Visit our suggestion list for eventspecific quotes.

Change images - To change the images in your Memorypost, select the “Change images” option from the “Edit Memorypost” section. The images posted on your Memorypost will appear on the screen. Select the “Edit” or “Replace” option beneath the image you wish to change.

Edit - If you select “Edit,” you will be offered three options: re-size, rotate, and flip.

Re-size - If you would like to make your image larger or smaller, select the “re-size” option and enter the size, in pixels, that you would like your image to be. Or, enter the percent you would like to shrink your image. For example, if you would like to make your image slightly smaller, enter “90” and the image will be re-sized to 90% of its original size.

Rotate - If your image is leaning slightly one way or another, select the “rotate” option to straighten your image. You will be given the option of rotating your image clockwise 90°, 180°, or 270°. Check to see which rotation best suits your image. If you would like to rotate it more or less than the options provided, use an image editing tool such as Adobe Photoshop to adjust the image prior to uploading it to your Memorypost.

Flip - To flip an image upside down or left to right, select the “flip” option and specify whether you would like the image flipped upside down (vertical) or from left to right (horizontal).

Replace - To replace an image, click “Replace” underneath the image you wish to change. The next screen will list the name of the image you have chosen to replace. Click the “Browse” button to search for and upload a new image. The new image name will appear in the box next to the “Browse” button. After you have logged in to your Memorypost site management, click the “Change text” button underneath “Edit Memorypost.” To center the additional text you entered after your title and caption, use the following example:
<center>Thank you for visiting our site!</center>

Note: You DO NOT need to know any HTML to create or edit your Memorypost. This information is intended for advanced users who want to further customize their Memorypost. To find out more about HTML, check out “HTML for Dummies,” by Ed Tittel, or visit Web Monkey, which offers brief design tutorials, at: http://www.webmonkey.com.
